Wing Commander Abhinandan Varthaman of the Indian Air Force (IAF) will return to India on Friday afternoon. The development comes a day after Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan announced in Parliament that Varthaman would be released on Friday as a “peace gesture”. The news of his release has prompted many to come forward and celebrate. A special thanksgiving prayer was organised by the state Home Guards in Chennai.
