Delhi has become increasingly unsafe for women. Majority of rapes take place in deserted and secluded areas. After the brutal rape of a medical student shocked the entire world, which later came to be known as the ‘Nirbhaya gang rape case’, the Delhi High Court has demanded the installation of CCTV cameras to make the capital more safe for women.
The Delhi high court on Thursday directed the police to adhere to an earlier timeline that had been given to install CCTV cameras at police stations and posts. The Times of India reported that a bench headed by justice Sanjiv Khanna and AJ Bhambani have given the police four days to inform of the progress that has been made in this area.
