Raw Superstar Jeff Hardy Arrested for DWI Over the Weekend

Jeff Hardy and his brother Matt returned to WWE during WrestleMania 33 in Orlando, Florida in what was considered to be among the most thrilling moments of 2017 in WWE. The return came after the brothers spent years competing in TNA/Impact Wrestling, and while Jeff Hardy had been dealing with addiction issues. Hardy has abused substances in the past, but went to rehab to get himself clean a few years back. Hardy won the Raw Tag Team Championships with his brother upon returning to WWE last year but the two have not teamed up together for a while due to Jeff Hardy’s recent injury. Jeff Hardy’s WWE return status is currently in the air.
Unfortunately, “The Charismatic Enigma” was just recently arrested for driving while impaired in North Carolina over the weekend. Wrestling Inc. reports that Hardy was arrested by the Carrabus County police in Concord, North Carolina this past Saturday. Hardy reportedly ran his car off of the road and striking a nearby guardrail. Hardy was arrested at around 10:30 PM and was taken to the Carrabus County Sheriff’s Office. PWInsider later reported that Hardy was released at around 11:24 PM that same night and received a 30-day driver’s license suspension. Jeff Hardy is scheduled to appear in at the Carrabus County Court on April 16th to discuss the matter.
Exact details on what led to Hardy’s arrest remain scarce at the moment, but the timing could not have come at a worse time given that WrestleMania 34 just around the corner. The former WWE Champion was reported to have been cleared by his surgeons to return to the ring from his injury this week, and the belief is that he is now waiting on clearance from WWE doctors before making an official return to the ring. Meanwhile, Matt Hardy has become “Woken” and his upcoming “Ultimate Deletion” match against Bray Wyatt was taped last week.
