WWE currently has more members on the roster now than at any other point in the company’s history. It makes sense that the company may be looking to cross a few names off of their list in order to move on with the company’s direction without having to write storylines for as many people. Fightful has reported that a number of contracts for WWE Superstars are set to expire soon. Some of the members of the WWE roster are choosing to leave on their own, while others could be departing mutually with the promotion. As usual, some of these superstars could always re-sign with the company to stay on for a few more years.
Two names who are definitely rumored to be on their way out of the company are Brock Lesnar and Daniel Bryan. Lesnar will likely be leaving to return to MMA after Wrestlemania 34 this year, and even though Lesnar’s rumored fight with Jon Jones appears to be off the table, the belief is that Lesnar could land a schedule with UFC that pays more and requires him to work even less dates than he does now in WWE. Daniel Bryan’s departure from WWE has been a long time coming, and he has been teasing a return to the ring in some other promotion ever since last year. The belief is that he will be ready to leave in about one year from now.
The Big Show’s current deal with WWE is also set to expire very soon as well. He is currently out of action to undergo hip surgery, and he teased that this year’s planned match against Shaquille O’Neal at Wrestlemania 33 would be his last. His contract expires in February 2018. Paige’s contract expires in 2019 which could spell trouble for her if she does not make her return soon, and Mauro Ranallo’s WWE deal recently expired, but he has now signed on only to remain with the company through 2019. WWE signings and departures are common every single year, but these are definitely the names to look out for as far as leaving the company at some point soon is concerned.
