Former WWE Star Debuts In TNA, Madison Rayne Update, Sheik Abdul Bashir, More

— On last night’s edition of TNA Impact!, former WWE Superstar Stevie Richards debuted as Abyss’s therapist, “Dr. Stevie”. A shot aired of Abyss sitting on a couch and the back of the therapist’s head, with Abyss referring to him as “Dr. Stevie”. Abyss rambled on how cute President Obama’s children are, how he’s addicted to violence, and how he can’t believe the Oceanic Six are going back to the island on the television show Lost. Dr. Stevie spoke, but never turned around on camera. In a backstage update regarding Richards being brought in, there was concern because some company officials were worried that TNA would look like a castoff for released WWE wrestlers, reports ProWrestling.NET.

— As reported earlier, TNA has signed newcomer Madison Rayne (indy wrestler Ashley Lane) to a contract. The Coshocton Tribune has a brief story on her signing, which you can read at the following link. Dave Prazak, founder of SHIMMER Women Athletes, has also confirmed the news on a few message boards. Lane appears on SHIMMER shows as she is currently one half of the promotion’s tag team champions along with Nevaeh.

— AJ Styles, Sheik Abdul Bashir, ODB & Shannon Moore will be appearing at the Echo Pro Wrestling events in Sartell, Minnesota on May 29th & 30th, 2009.
