MLW Announces Competitors for 9/6 WarGames Match; Morrison, Dreamer, Callihan & More Confirmed!

MLW has finally announced the competitors taking part in the highly anticipated return of WarGames on September 6th, live from the War Memorial Auditorium in Fort Lauderdale, FL.

It looks like the upcoming WarGames will stick to the more traditional five-on-five structure for the match, with the staggered entrances, two rings and one giant cage, unlike the modern WWE NXT reincarnation which actually featured three smaller teams and a modified format for the entrances.

One of the teams will be led by Impact Wrestling and Lucha Underground superstar Johnny Mundo, who has put together a stacked support lineup featuring ECW legend Tommy Dreamer, the brand new Evolve Champion Shane Strickland, Kotto Brazil and Barrington Hughes.

They will all be locked inside the monstrous cage against the most infamous name in wrestling today, Sami Callihan, as he captains a team featuring Jimmy Havoc and the Death Machines, Leon Scott and Fulton, as well as a mystery partner to be named at a later date.

This is actually not the first time MLW has brought the WarGames match out of retirement. Way back in 2003 a star-studded team of Terry Funk, The Sandman, Bill Alfonso, Dr. Death Steve Williams and Sabu took on Barry Windham, CW Anderson, PJ Walker, Simon Diamond and Steve Corino inside the dreaded XXL steel cage.
