As noted, WWE announced Bray Wyatt was in a serious car accident last Friday night, and subsequently Wyatt has not appeared at any events since the car accident. Wyatt has been released from the hospital, and The Wrestling Observer Newsletter reports he is scheduled to be evaluated on 7/6 to determine when he can return to action. As of this writing, Wyatt’s scheduled Raw Tag Team Title defense at WWE Extreme Rules is still on.
More Details On WWE Changing the Start Times For NXT Takeover
We also noted last week that beginning with NXT Takeover Brooklyn over SummerSlam weekend, WWE plans to begin the Takeover events one hour earlier, meaning the actual Takeover show will begin at 7pm EST. WWE typically holds pre-show TV tapings before Takeover begins, so the official start time for the evening will be 6:15pm EST including the content taped for the following week’s NXT episode.
According to The Wrestling Observer Newsletter, the idea behind the start time change is not to make the Takeover events longer, but simply to begin them an hour earlier. With the Takeover events usually lasting roughly two hours, it is expected that they will end somewhere between 9pm and 9:30pm EST, depending on whether or not WWE plans to have an overrun with the show. As seen with Money in the Bank, the PPV ended up going well over a half hour past the typical PPV end times.
