On Smackdown LIVE, we were ready to see a classic match between Samoa Joe and Daniel Bryan, never before seen in WWE and the winner would go on to take part in the Money In The Bank ladder match.
Unfortunately, Big Cass saw that that would not be the case, as he has been a large thorn in the side Daniel Bryan, inserting himself into the match, thus turning it into a Triple Threat Match. Unfortunately for Daniel Bryan, he was not victorious and Samoa Joe walked away the victor, moving on to compete for the coveted briefcase in Chicago.
WWE announced that Daniel Bryan will get his chance for payback at the Money In the Bank Pay Per View when he faces Big Cass once again on June 17th.
It was speculated that Bryan was kept out of the Money In The Bank ladder match due to a higher likelihood of sustaining a neck or head injury, and with his history of both, a one on one match with Cass would be a safer option. The men went one on one previously at WWE Backlash, which saw Big Cass tapping out to Daniel Bryan.
