According to CBS Local News, WWE Hall of Famer Bruno Sammartino has passed away at the age of 82.
The report adds Sammartino had been recently hospitalized in Pittsburgh, PA, and he passed away this morning. Sammartino passed away with his wife, Carol, and sons, Darryl and Dan, by his side. He died peacefully after battling health issues for the last two months.
Sammartino is best-known for his work in WWWF, where he held the WWWF World Heavyweight Championship for over 11 years, with his first Title reign being the longest single reign in WWWF/WWE history at 2,803 days.
Sammartino, whose nickname was the “Living Legend”, was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame back in 2013.
