WWE NXT Results

– Mauro Ranallo welcomes us to WWE NXT as we watch an emotional video package showcasing last week’s NXT Championship match where Johnny Gargano was forced to leave the yellow brand forever.
(1) Velveteen Dream def. Tyler Bate. Decent back and forth match given some decent time. Lots of stiff, British strong-style offense from Bate who nearly put it away several times. Dream hit the Purple Rainmaker to get the pin.
– The Authors of Pain and Paul Ellering cut a backstage promo declaring victory in the Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic.
– NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas will address the fans later on tonight.
(2) Adam Cole def. Cezar Bononi. Not a long match. Cezar hit some devastating moves but reDRagon was too much of a distraction to overcome. Cole hit a superkick and a Shining Wizard for the win. The trio left Bononi laying after the match.
– We see a video package covering the rivalry between Kairi Sane and Shayna Baszler going all the way back to the Mae Young Classic.
(3) Shayna Baszler def. Kairi Sane. Shayna controlled most of the match as you’d expect with stiff strikes and submissions. Kairi came back and got the crowd worked up, did all her big spots and went up for the elbow drop, but Shayna knocked her down into rear naked choke to get the submission.
– Baszler cuts a promo calling out Ember Moon, claiming that she will either take the NXT Women’s Championship, or take her arm.
– NXT Champion Andrade Cien Almas comes out led by Zelina Vega, who cut a scathing promo about Johnny Gargano being a loser and bringing his family to NXT just to watch him lose his career. She also takes a shot at Candice LeRae claiming that she creates her man’s success rather than feeding off it. The two go to leave but Aleister Black comes out, followed by Killian Dain as we get a big staredown between all of them. Black goes for his finishing kick but Dain blocks it and leaves him laying as the champion and his manager retreat to the back.
