L’Équipe are reporting that Inter Milan centre-back Milan Škriniar (27), who is set to join Paris Saint-Germain in the summer, is pushing to move to the Ligue 1 champions this month.
Škriniar announced that he will join PSG in the summer, but the Slovakian international is now hoping to move earlier. Les Parisiens are financially restricted this month and are prioritising the signing of a winger to replace Pablo Sarabia, who joined Wolverhampton Wanderers earlier in the transfer window.
Olympique Lyonnais’ Rayan Cherki and Zenit St Petersburg’s Malcom are the primary targets, and the reigning Ligue 1 champions are making concrete steps to ensure the arrival of one of those options. A loan is reportedly being explored for Malcom, which could leave room in the budget to sign Škriniar.
The Slovakian international is pushing for a move before the closure of the transfer window at the end of the month. He is scared of the reaction of the Inter Milan fans going into the second half of the season, and this is one of the primary motivating factors behind Škriniar wanting to expedite his move.
PSG have made an opening offer of €10m, but Inter Milan are awaiting a second bid before the deadline on Tuesday. The fee should be around €15m with a figure of €20m, including bonuses, thought to be sufficient to acquire Škriniar’s services this month.
