Milan Škriniar agrees to join PSG next summer

L’Équipe report this afternoon that Inter defender Milan Škriniar has given his verbal agreement to Paris Saint-Germain over a free transfer next summer.

The Slovakian international has turned down a contract extension offer with the Nerazzurri, with his current deal expiring at the end of the season.

The defender was the Ligue 1 leaders’ leading defensive target this summer, and was the subject of a number of offers – but the Serie A side held out for a fee much higher than what PSG were willing to put on the table, the final offer having been set at €55m.

A move for Škriniar as early as this month could also be on the card – with the centre-back ostensibly refusing to extend his contract, the Inter management could well be led to selling him this January in order to recoup part of the fee they had turned down this summer – PSG have up to €15m at their disposal if they are to buy out the final six months of his contract.
