Paris Saint-Germain host Benfica in another UEFA Champions League group-stage match on Tuesday evening. Meanwhile, it is understood that the PSG players have covered the least amount of ground over the first three rounds in UCL this season.
As reported by L’Équipe, PSG—out of the 32 teams involved in the group stage—have covered the fewest kilometres in the 2022/23 Champions League season thus far.
In their first game of the European season against Juventus, the reigning Ligue 1 champions collectively covered 100.2 kilometres. Against Maccabi Haifa, they accumulated 105.3 km, which got extended to 109.4 km when the Parisian club faced Benfica in Portugal last week.
On average, they have covered 104.6 km over the first three matchdays of the Champions League this season, which puts the French side in first place when it comes to covering the least amount of ground.
Considered one of the favourites to win the Champions League this season, Manchester City have amassed an average of 115.2 km, almost 11 kilometres more than PSG. Despite covering the fewest kilometres, PSG remain at the top of their respective group with seven points from three games.
