As reported by Nice-Matin, Arsenal forward Nicolas Pépé has decided to move to Ligue 1 side OGC Nice on loan before the end of the transfer window.
The two clubs have reached a deal to allow the player to spend the year at the Allianz Riviera on loan without an option to buy at the end of the spell, say the outlet, with Nice covering only part of the player’s monthly wages of €650,000. Leicester were also keen on the 27-year-old and offered to pay the player’s full salary but the player refused a move to the Foxes with his focus set on returning to France.
The former Angers and Orleans Ivorian international joined the Gunners in 2019 for £72m but has failed to truly make an impact in London since, playing 112 games across all competitions, scoring 27 goals while adding 21 assists in that time – that includes his 10 goals in 29 Premier League games last season.
