According to Daily Mercato OM’s American international Konrad de La Fuente (21) is set for a loan away from the club – with newly promoted La Liga side Valladolid best placed to acquire the services of the left-winger. La Fuente is under contract with Marseille until 2025.
After making a move from Barcelona last summer for €3m, the American endured a tough spell with Marseille last season with only 23 appearances and a prolonged period out of the side due to injury during the second half of the season.
Before Marseille’s Europa Conference quarter-final meeting with PAOK, Marseille manager Jorge Sampaoli explained: “De la Fuente has a crippling cartilage injury, which requires surgery. I think, after the surgery, he’ll need three or four weeks, so it may be very difficult to see him play again this season.”
Marseille have been busy of late in the transfer market, having confirmed the signing of Arsenal left-back Nuno Tavares on a season-long loan as well as reaching agreements for the departure of defender Luan Peres to Fernabahce as well as terminating the contract of outbound defender Alvaro Gonzalez.
