West Ham’s €23m bid for Amadou Onana rejected by Lille

Sky Sports News report that West Ham have made a bid for Lille midfielder Amadou Onana, which has been rejected as Les Dogues are unwilling to sell their Belgian international.

The bid is worth €23m, and the Premier League side are considering whether to come back with an improved offer, as they remain interested in the 20-year-old.

Onana joined Lille from Hamburg a year ago, and has another four seasons remaining on his contract. In his first season in the north of France, the defensive midfielder made 42 appearances in all competitions, including all 8 of Lille’s Champions League fixtures. He registered three goals and an assist.

Having become a full Belgium international this year, Onana has also been linked with a move to Monaco, having been reportedly identified by the principality club as a potential replacement for Aurélien Tchouaméni after the French international’s move to Real Madrid earlier this summer.
