Official | Marseille sign Isaak Touré from Le Havre

Marseille have this afternoon announced the signing of French youth international defender Isaak Touré from Le Havre, having evidently beaten Manchester City to his signature.

The centre-back has signed a five-year deal after passing his medical, and becomes Marseille’s second signing of the summer after the arrival of fellow defender Samuel Gigot.

The 19-year-old has played regularly for the Normandy side this season, registering 17 appearances after initially making his debut last season in the second tier.

His transfer is reported to be worth €5.5m, plus an extra €2m in bonuses. Touré had originally been set to sign for the Premier League champions on a long-term deal which would have then seen him loaned out to Troyes, but Marseille then entered the race and won him over.

The defender was already the subject of interest for a transfer last summer, with interest from the Bundesliga and Ligue 1, but the Normandy side sought to hold on to him for another year, and have now decided to let go of him with his contract expiring at the end of next season.
