Fabrizio Romano is reporting that OGC Nice goalkeeper Walter Benítez (29) is set to join PSV Eindhoven on a free transfer upon the expiry of his contract at the Riviera side.
He is set to depart Nice following a brilliant season in Ligue 1, where he kept the most clean sheets (14) and his heroics in goal were largely responsible for the side outperforming their expected goals.
Former Argentina U20 goalkeeper Benítez also recently obtained French citizenship and he was in the conversation for a national team call-up. Despite this, he is not set to renew at Nice, who will compete in the Europa Conference League next season.
Instead, he is set to join Dutch side PSV Eindhoven and he is set for medical tests over the weekend. The Eredivisie side finished second in the league last season and have therefore qualified for the play-off rounds of the Champions League.
