Celta Vigo announced in a communiqué this morning that Luis Campos will continue to act as an external advisor at the club. The former Lille and Monaco sporting director will become a busy man in the next few months, after replacing Leonardo at Paris Saint-Germain in the function of ‘sporting advisor’.
The La Liga side who finished 11th last season stated that Campos has been “working at Celta for several months as an external advisor in the area of first-team co-ordination” and that “the desire of both parties is for the collaboration to extend over time for many years” according to L’Équipe.
He has already started his work at Paris Saint-Germain, already having reportedly been involved in the talks to sign centre-back Milan Skriniar (27) from Inter Milan. RMC also reported this afternoon that Campos is aiming to set up an ‘elite’ group for the club’s best youth players in order encourage youth promotion to the first team at Paris Saint-Germain.
Whether the external-advising-expert can manage the workload of a Paris Saint-Germain overhaul coupled with the management of Celta Vigo’s first team activities is yet to be seen – although it is unlikely that any conflict of interest should arise from both jobs.
