Matteo Guendouzi: “We showed a very bad image”

Speaking to Canal Plus after Olympique Marseille’s 3-2 loss against Feyenoord at the De Kuip Stadium on Thursday, France international midfielder Matteo Guendouzi (23) expressed his disappiontment at the side’s collective performance.

“We’re still alive in the tie. There’s only a one goal difference and we know that at home it will be a different match. We made too many individual errors, too many technical errors, and we didn’t show a good image of ourselves. We showed a very bad image this evening, so we have resolve that, starting on Sunday, and of course we have to win the return leg.”

“Despite the very bad game we had this evening, we still had opportunities to score, even to come back to 3-3. There was some positive, but there was also a lot of negative this evening. We going to have to really work hard again to prepare for the match against Lyon. Quite simply, we made the task difficult for ourselves tonight. They didn’t necessarily have a very good, we just completely messed it up.”
