As reported by RMC Sport, former West Ham midfielder Dimitri Payet (34) went to visit the Olympique de Marseille fan group who were responsible for the banner displayed at the Stade VĂ©lodrome during the Coupe de France fixture against Montpellier (29/01), which was played in front of the maximum 5,000 fans due to Covid restrictions.
Payet, who has produced consistently impressive performances this season for Marseille, registering 8 goals and 9 assists, is extremely popular with the fanbase.
To thank the South Winners group for their banner, the man from La RĂ©union went to the Belle de Mai district of Marseille, and shared their interaction via a picture on Twitter. In the background of the picture features another banner of Bernard Tapie, former president of the club, who died in October.
