As reported by Fabrizio Romano, Lille forward Jonathan Ikoné is finally set to join Italian club Fiorentina this coming January with only the paperwork yet to be signed after all details were finally agreed. It had been reported last week that some details of the deal were sticking and that another club had also entered the running.
The Frenchman will sign a five-year deal and carry a fee of €15m with Lille taking a 10% sell-on clause. Lille themselves will suffer from a sell-on clause implanted by PSG into the deal that saw Les Dogues sign the now 23-year-old in the first place. Paris Saint-Germain will receive between 45% and 50% of this fee as a result.
Lille coach Jocelyn Gourvennec told RMC on last Monday that “if he has to leave, we will replace him.” Nantes’ in-form attacking midfielder Ludovic Blas has been discussed as a replacement but FCN’s €20m asking price makes that move tricky.
