Florent Da Silva rejects opening professional contract offer from Lyon

RMC Sport report that 17-year-old Lyon academy prospect Florent Da Silva has rejected an opening professional contract proposal from Les Gones. However, with 12 months remaining on his youth deal, negotiations are ongoing and the player wants to sign pro with the club that formed him, but is seeking more concrete guarantees around playing time.

Talks between Lyon and Da Silva have been ongoing for six months, but OL made their first formal written offer to the talent a few days ago. An offer that fell very short of what Da Silva is expecting and has led his entourage to question Lyon’s intentions.

Vincent Ponsot and Jean Sudres are leading the negotiations for OL, which will continue in the coming weeks.

The player wants to sign a pro deal with OL, but wants to ensure that he receives adequate playing time. He spent a large chunk of the 2nd half of this campaign training intermittently with the 1st team, at the express request of Sporting Director Juninho.
