Bristol Bears have announced that England front-row Kyle Sinckler has signed a contract extension which keeps him at the Premiership club until the summer of 2024.
Sinckler’s current deal was set to expire at the end of the 2022/23 season and several French clubs are believed to be interested in acquiring his services.
But the 29-year-old has decided to extend his stay at the West Country outfit, after initially joining the Bears from Harlequins in July 2020.
“It’s fantastic for the Bears to retain someone of Kyle’s calibre. For him to re-sign with the Bears is a huge positive for the club,” said Bristol Bears’ director of rugby, Pat Lam.
Added value at Bristol
“He is an outstanding professional with a wealth of experience in a crucial position and has added real value on and off the field for us. I’m pleased for everyone at the Bears that he will continue to contribute to our journey.”
Sinckler, who has made 58 Test appearances for England and six for the British & Irish Lions, has been called up England head coach Eddie Jones’ squad for their upcoming Autumn Nations Series internationals.
“It was an easy decision for me to stay at Bristol and I feel like I’ve got unfinished business here,” said Sinckler.
“I’m excited for what’s to come from this group and feel very blessed to play for a club with such incredible supporters.”
