Marseille looking to quickly conclude Rubén Blanco deal

Foot Mercato are reporting that Marseille president Pablo Longoria is looking to quickly conclude a deal for Celta Vigo goalkeeper Rubén Blanco (26) so that the club can focus on bringing in midfield reinforcements.

Spaniard Blanco would be the no.2 at the French club, behind compatriot Pau López (27). According to Foot Mercato, Marseille aren’t looking to “waste time on the deal,” and are intent on concluding it as soon as possible.

Reportedly, talks between the club and the player’s agent are advancing so well that the player is expected to fly to complete the deal in the coming hours. The deal would be a loan with an option to buy.

The former Spain U21 international lost his spot as the no.1 at the club around 18 months ago and saw his playing time severely restricted in the previous campaign as he only managed two Copa del Rey appearances over the course of the entire season.

Following the conclusion of the deal, the club will turn their focus toward midfield recruitments. Tiémoué Bakayoko (27) has reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with the club, but new manager Igor Tudor is unsure of a deal.
