In speaking before his team’s trip to Nantes tomorrow evening, PSG coach Mauricio Pochettino defended forward Lionel Messi after criticism of the player’s performance against Real Madrid in the Champions League earlier this week.
“I don’t read what is written about Lionel Messi. But he’s the best in the world. Leo Messi is football. A player like him, with his experience, cannot lose confidence over a missed penalty. If we think like that, it’s because we don’t understand this sport. As I said, he had a very good game, he found good positions, his ball recoveries were numerous.”
