L’Équipe report today that Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Aminata Diallo’s police custody had been extended by 24 hours by the Versailles prosecutor last night.
The 26-year-old was arrested early yesterday morning over her suspected link in an attack on teammate Kheira Hamraoui last Thursday. On the way back from a team dinner, the latter was dragged out of a car driven by Diallo and hit on the legs in an assault carried out two masked men.
Diallo is said to have been questioned four times, and has denied any involvement. A 34-year-old man said to be close to Diallo and currently incarcerated in a Lyon prison has also been taken into custody and questionned. The man reportedly made anonymous calls to several PSG players starting from October, during the international break.
The players contacted are said to have been Marie-Antoinette Katoto, Sakina Karchaoui, Grace Geyoro, and Aminata Diallo. In the calls, he presented himself as a “married man” who claimed to have had a three-year relationship with Hamraoui during her time at Barcelona. He would explain that his life had been “ruined” and that he wanted revenge.
Specific details were reportedly brought up in the calls regarding Hamraoui’s personal life – notably a party at men’s team defender Presnel Kimpembe where she is said to have suffered a “fall”. These details have led to suspicions of an internal source at the club. The suspected caller’s police custody has also been extended, after denying his involvement as well.
