Chelsea & Manchester United make new enquiries for Thomas Meunier – L’Équipe

L’Équipe report that Manchester United and Chelsea have made fresh enquiries for 28-year-old PSG right-back Thomas Meunier.

Tottenham remain in pole position for the Belgian international, who is a free agent from June, after the player had a positive conversation with José Mourinho about a possible move. Spurs Chairman Daniel Levy remains unconvinced about a deal for the defender at this stage, as he felt he sold Kieran Trippier to Atletico Madrid last summer to make room for Serge Aurier to take up the starting spot at right-back.

The sense is that the arrival of Meunier would dislodge Aurier in that right-back starting berth. The Belgian still wants to remain at PSG, but has not received a contract extension proposal, according to the newspaper.
