OREGON CITY, OR – Quick-thinking deputies from the Clackamas County Sheriff’s Office saved a baby’s life. They were then invited to visit the hospital and meet the baby girl and her family.
It was around noon on Sept. 30 when the deputies received an urgent call from Clackamas Town Center.

Deputies Jonathan Zacharkiw, Dan Olson, and Jonah Russell arrived and found little Audrey Harmon pale and unresponsive.
Audrey’s mom, Jessie Siefer, had called 911 while Audrey’s dad, Kaylob Harmon, and several good Samaritans tried to perform CPR.
The deputies jumped into actions.
Zacharkiw performed chest compressions. Olson checked Audrey’s airway with his fingers. Russell kept the girl’s head stabilized.
Zacharkiw turned Audrey over and began a slight burping pat to get the fluid out of her airway. He then flipped her back over while Russell used a Bulbous nose sucker to get fluid out of her nose.
Soon after, paramedics from Clackamas Fire District 1 took over and rushed Audrey to OHSU where she’s still in intensive care but improving.
The whole rescue was caught on Town Center’s security cameras.
This past weekend, Audrey’s parents invited the deputies to meet them at the hospital and see Audrey.

“Kaylob told us he wanted a picture to show Audrey one day of the guys who saved her life,” Zacharkiw says. “It was unbelievably heartwarming to be invited back, and amazing to see how far she has progressed since last Sunday. “
