Undertaker Now on SummerSlam, McMahon’s 2017 Earnings, Elias Turn

Although some fans thought that The Undertaker had decided to leave wrestling behind him after losing to Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 33 last year, “The Phenom” has proven this year that he is definitely not finished with his wrestling career just yet. Undertaker defeated John Cena at WrestleMania this year before he won a Casket Match against Rusev at the Greatest Royal Rumble event. Undertaker has also been confirmed for the Super Show-Down event in Australia and a live event in Madison Square Garden. Per WrestleVotes, The Undertaker is now expected to compete at SummerSlam in August as well. He has been presented with a storyline going into the show, so get ready to see “The Deadman” return to the ring again later this summer.

Texting With A Source: The Undertaker has been presented w/ a story & match for SummerSlam. Source said him working MSG next month along with Australia in October should be a good sign for SummerSlam. I can add that the idea is something Taker was pushing for at one point. #TWAS

Just in case there was ever any doubt, 2017 was a great year for the McMahon family. Not only did the year mark another successful twelve months business-wise for Vince McMahon, but it also saw his wife, Linda McMahon, begin her tenure as the Small Business Administrator for the United States. According to a recent report from Forbes Magazine, in addition to his $3.1 million salary, Vince earned $100 million from dividends, interest on investments, and $73 million after he sold 4.3% of his stake in the company last year. Linda earned between $100,000-$1,000,000 for her interest on a multi-million dollar personal loan she made. Both of them also earned an additional $12 million after taxes through various investments from WWE’s dividends.

One of the fastest rising talents on the Raw brand in WWE is Elias. Audiences have taken to Elias’ “Drifter” character over the past year, and his match against Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank has been praised so far as well. Dave Meltzer has just speculated in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter that the company may be planting the seeds for a possible babyface turn for Elias. Given that Rollins was only able to win the match in an unconvincing fashion (quickly reversing a cradle and holding Elias’ gear down to get the pin), this could have been done in order to start the process of turning Elias into a sympathetic character. Elias still remains a heel at the moment, but it was noted that “Elias is obviously ending up at some point as a face.”
