WWE Concussion Lawsuits Dismissed, EC3 Officially Debuts on NXT

Over the past few years, a whole litany of lawsuits have been filed against WWE from former members of the roster claiming that WWE purposefully withheld knowledge of concussions and CTE symptoms from them during their time with the company. The company has just scored itself a few major victories in court as PWInsider has reported that Judge Vanessa L. Bryant has officially dismissed the final charge against the company. Though most of the lawsuits against WWE have been thrown out by Judge Bryant, she had yet do so with the ones led by former WWE performers Vito LoGrasso and Evan Singleton, but that officially came to an end on March 28th.
The report notes that LoGrasso and Singleton’s case was dismissed after Bryant declared that the court was not able to find any evidence linking WWE to having knowledge of the risks of possible head injuries before September 5th, 2007. It was also noted that LoGrasso had contacted WWE about possibly working for the company as a trainer back in 2009 but did not disclose to them that he had been dealing with memory loss, migraines, and bouts of depression. Bryant also noted that SIngleton had not provided any evidence suggesting that WWE hid knowledge of concussions from him during his time with WWE, and that Singleton had also participated in concussion testing during his time with the company. The concussion lawsuit brought on by dozens of former wrestlers still lingers on.
Ethan Carter III left Impact Wrestling earlier this year and appeared in the crowd at NXT Takeover: Philadelphia not too long after that. WWE confirmed later that he had signed a deal to work for NXT. Carter’s final appearance on Impact Wrestling just aired on Pop TV last week, and now he has already began to work on his NXT career. During William Regal’s announcement for the brand new North American Championship on NXT last night, Carter (now known simply as EC3) came down to the ring to a tremendous ovation from the Orlando crowd. William Regal later confirmed that EC3 will be given the chance to compete for NXT’s newest title in a six-man ladder match at NXT Takeover: New Orleans on April 7th.
