Shawn Michaels’ return to Monday Night Raw this past week began rumours that Mr WrestleMania could have been making a WWE return in his hometown of San Antonio, Texas at The Royal Rumble.
Sadly, HBK only appeared on Raw to promote his new movie ‘The Ressurection of Gavin Stone’ and then dropped Rusev with a Sweet Chin Music to prove that despite the fact that it has been seven years since his last WWE match, he’s still got it.
He spoke to The Daily Star following his appearance and said: “As flattering as it is – seven years later people are still saying one more match… I’d like to continue to try to show people how to be retired.
“Of course – I guess – in the WWE, you never know what’s going to happen, right? Crazy line of work; been a crazy year – and it’s early yet. I certainly may come by and visit but… in the last seven years I have done my best to show people how you actually retire.”
Could this be a clever ploy by WWE to allow Michaels to be a surprise Royal Rumble participant? Or will The Heart Break Kid really not play a part in the Rumble in his hometown, ten years after his incredible WWE Championship win?
