With John Cena facing Kane in the main event of WWE Raw last night in Cleveland, most fans thought the official announcement of Cena vs The Undertaker at WrestleMania 34 would come sometime during the Raw main event or at the conclusion of the show.
However, Cena picked up the win over The Big Red Machine, and cut yet another promo ripping into the “cowardly” Undertaker for not yet offering the fans an answer to his WrestleMania match challenge. Raw then went off the air without a trace of The Undertaker, leaving only one more episode of Raw before WrestleMania.
On the most recent edition of Wrestling Observer Radio, host Dave Meltzer speculated the reason why WWE has yet to officially announce the John Cena vs The Undertaker “dream match” is because Vince McMahon feels the ‘Mania card is already stacked, and the announcement can wait.
“[WWE] will wait until the last week as the thing is, realistically, they have a loaded card and it’s not like they will have trouble selling tickets,” said Meltzer. “The idea is with Daniel Bryan’s return and Ronda Rousey’s match, you know Shinsuke Nakamura and AJ Styles and Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns. I think maybe Vince figures ‘hey, it’s a loaded up card, we can wait until the last week to push Cena vs. Undertaker.’
